Service Manager.
Job Purpose:
The Service Manager is responsible to the Board for the operational delivery of all services provided by Carers Guernsey, ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with the charity’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Raising awareness
-
Act as an ambassador for the organisation and to foster a dynamic, productive and supportive culture, true to the charity’s vision and ethos.

Responsible for promoting Carers Guernsey to all stakeholders in the community ensuring that Carers and professionals supporting them are aware of our support.

Responsible for maintaining key relationships as appropriate with partner agencies and the wider community.
Service Delivery

Deliver an outreach service to Carers in the community.

Ensure that the Carers Guernsey services are operationally excellent: ensuring a needs driven service which provides the greatest impact to Carers’ lives in our community.

Quality assure the organisation’s service provision ensuring compliance with adequate and proportionate procedures and policies to ensure the adoption of best practice.

Responsible for all safeguarding matters including currently acting as the organisation’s safeguarding lead.
Operations
-
Responsible for the HR function within the organisation, including the employment cycle and development of appropriate policies. Responsible for the line management of all staff and volunteers (currently 0.5 FTE Outreach Worker).

Responsible for data collection, collation and impact-assessment to provide regular impact reports to the Board as well as any funding requirements.

Oversight of the administrative function of the organisation, including responsibility for GDPR, insurance, health & safety matters and compliance with statutory-related matters.

Contribute to and participate in Board meetings and strategic planning as required.

Strategy and Leadership

Identify opportunities for future growth and development to further support Carers.

Develop new opportunities for involvement with strategic partners in the public, voluntary and charity sector.

Balance strategic and operational management demands.

Alongside the Board, create and deliver a fundraising strategy for Carers Guernsey.

Job Title: Service Manager
Reports to: The Chair
Responsible To: The Board of Directors
Direct Reports: Initially one, potentially more, plus volunteers
Annual Leave: 26 days
Other: Flexible working, pension and supervision
It is envisaged this will be a full-time role and whilst hours will be flexible and self-managed, the ideal candidate will need to use initiative and demonstrate commitment to the overall objectives of the charity.
This Job Description reflects the duties of the post as they exist at this time and may be subject to change based on the needs of the service. The post-holder may be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the salary and competence requirements of this post from time to time as required.

Salary band: £40,000-£45,000 per annum based on experience
